The Finance Platform Plenary was held on 8 June 2022

The annual meeting of the Finance Platform Plenary was held on 8 June 2022, in person and online. The meeting was chaired by Stefano Pierini, Chair of the Finance Platform, FS Group. He was assisted by Sophie Carmet, Legal Advisor, A/g Finance Platform Plenary Coordinator.

During the plenary, the ongoing work and action plan were presented by the moderators of the Finance Platform working groups:

  • RCF 1 – Passenger accounting group: continuing to support projects, especially OSDM (Open Sales and Distribution Model) and Next Generation Revenue Sharing;
  • RCF 2 – Freight accounting group;
  • RCF 3 – Group governing the rules of financial relations between companies: the work of ODC (Office of Debt Clearance), BCC (Budget Clearance Centre) and publication of IRS30311;
  • Taxation group: programmed work on global minimum tax, the initiative regarding VAT rate for passenger transports and the creation of a carbon taxation group;
  • Debt groups: settlements between railways companies;
  • Enrico Trapazzo, Chair of the Legal group, FS Group, provided a special presentation on the work of the Legal group, explaining the work carried out on the MERITS system, UIC statutes and the Open Sales and Distribution Model (OSDM).

The presentations were complemented by accompanying groups, including the PATRIC audit group, with its programme of audits for 2022, and statistics on the production of new Railisa, conducting surveys of monthly, annual and international indications and publications.

Isabelle De Keyzer, UIC Sustainable Advisor, was a guest speaker at the plenary and presented the Rail Sustainability Index, whose data gathering campaign is continuing until 30 June.
