UIC and the Harmotrack management team are delighted to invite you to the 6th Harmotrack Plenary Meeting on 24-26 May 2023 in Rome, Italy.

The UIC Harmotrack project brings together more than 200 international railway experts from 65 railway companies and academic institutions across the globe. Led by SNCF Réseau, the Harmotrack project aims to:

  • Release an international benchmark on dynamic measurements for monitoring track quality and modernising maintenance processes
  • Define the intended use for acceleration measurements and device specifications
  • Define reliable indicators of track quality (increased vigilance, callouts, or slowdowns) based on accelerating the improvement of network maintenance and simulations
  • Contribute to enhancing safety and reducing costs on all networks by prioritising track geometry defect correction, focusing on those with the highest potential impact on vehicle dynamics
  • Propose future international standards or technical recommendations on the use of dynamic measurements

The plenary meeting will include round table discussions with directors and CEOs from various railway companies and institutions across the globe. These sessions will be open to the public on the afternoon of 24 May.
The round tables will include these high-level speakers discussing the following topics:

  • The future direction of railway maintenance and operations, and strategic game changers
  • How the railway industry’s digital shift could drive new railway technologies

The second day is exclusive to Harmotrack members, and consists of technical discussions on the latest achievements of the Harmotrack sub working groups.

On the last day, technical visits will be held at RFI’s facilities. However, limited places are available and priority will be given to Harmotrack members.
