This is a follow up of the Xborder 2 project.
An excellent work has been done in Xborder 2

  • by realizing an enhanced list of standardised/pre-defined messages based on real operational concepts allowing a communication between RU drivers and IM traffic controllers in all operational situations on cross border sections
  • developing procedures and scenarios for PDM Pilot testing
  • realizing a guideline for PDM to be used in daily operational service for the pilot
  • performing a gap analysis and conclusion on the use of the Predefined Messages on a full-penetration basis
  • providing continuous support of pilot testing, providing consultation and oversight
  • producing a document describing the “ideal border section” to enable the RUs to have easy and smooth operations.
  • The objectives of X Border 3 project are relevant in order to further improve the competitiveness of rail freight in crossborder operations, quick win solutions and to overcome the driver language barrier when crossing borders or driving in a foreign country as well as beyond borders.
