As of 2 November this year, Christian Lambert will take up the position of Director of Security at SNCF.
He will be responsible for:
- Implementing the security package
- Maintaining the professional excellence of the railway police and overseeing forthcoming developments in the latter
Christian Lambert is considered to be one of the leading professionals in the area of security. SNCF Group will benefit from his extensive knowledge in the running of French and European police institutions.
Christian Lambert will succeed Didier Schwartz, who will shortly take on new responsibilities within the group.
In 2003 Christian Lambert was appointed Chief of the RAID (counter-terrorism unit of the French National Police), then appointed Prefect in 2005 and Prefect of Seine St Denis in 2010. Since 2013 he has been assigned by the Minister of the Interior to oversee priority areas, revamping the training of the prefectural corps and improving relations between the security forces and the local population.
