The 5th International Seminar on Railway Safety and Security jointly organised between ONCF and UIC will take place from 10 – 12 April 2013 in Tangier, following on from similar seminars held in Marrakech in March 2009 and in Ifrane in April 2011.
Focusing on the concept that managing safety and security is vital to maximising the advantages of rail transport, the seminar will serve as an opportunity to review the status of research in the fields of railway safety and security, to develop issues related to the management of these two themes and to integrate aspects of civil defence and collisions. Running alongside the seminar will be a technology exhibition featuring suppliers working in these areas.
The seminar will conclude with a technical visit to the site of the future Moroccan Tangier-Casablanca high speed rail line currently under construction, and which is due to open at the end of 2015.
