- The Barcelona-Granada Ave will run from 5 October and the Granada-Barcelona connection will operate from 6 October
- Both services will run in the morning, leaving Granada at 8.15 am and Barcelona-Sants at 8.30 am
Renfe has relaunched its direct high-speed, long-distance service between Granada and Barcelona, which will resume on 5 October.
The trains will run in the morning, making them more attractive to users, with departures from Andaluces station at 8.15 am and from Barcelona Sants at 8.30 am. Both will make the usual stops in Antequera, Córdoba, Zaragoza, Lleida and Tarragona. Travel times remain unchanged at around six hours and 15 minutes.
The new schedule will operate with trains coupled on part of the route to other Ave trains between Andalusia and Catalonia, as is typical on these routes.
Ave train tickets for the Barcelona-Granada route are available from all of Renfe’s sales channels: www.renfe.com, telephone 912 320 320, Renfe ticket application, as well as in stations and from agencies.
Progressive increase in service offering
Renfe adapted timetables for all of its services in March due to the Covid-19 crisis and emergency decree in Spain. Supply is now being increased progressively in order to respond to actual demand.
The current service offering for Granada comprises four Avant Granada-Córdoba-Seville trains, four Media Distancia Granada-Almería trains and two Ave Madrid-Granada trains. In addition, two Ave trains will provide daily service between Granada and Barcelona. Renfe is actively monitoring demand for each route.
