Deutsche Bahn has signed its first framework agreement with the business and tourism group to offer the Deutschland-Ticket as a work benefit • Up to 150,000 REWE Group employees will be able to receive the Deutschland-Ticket for 34.30€ • DB is currently in talks with a further 1000 companies

(Frankfurt am Main/Cologne, 10 May 2023) The REWE Group has opted to offer the Deutschland-Ticket as a “Jobticket” to its employees. Jobtickets are monthly or annual passes for public transport that the employer purchases from a transport company, often at a reduced price.

Deutsche Bahn (DB) has signed its first framework agreement for the new nationwide ticket scheme with the retail and tourism group. Around 150,000 employees of the REWE Group, one of the nation’s largest employers, can now order the Deutschland-Ticket as a discounted Jobticket for 34.30€ per month. REWE Group employees from all participating subsidiaries across Germany will be eligible - whether they work in the stores, administration, or logistics.

Evelyn Palla, Member of the Management Board for Regional Transport:The Deutschland-Ticket makes travelling locally the easiest and cheapest it has ever been. With more than 40 million people in employment across Germany, the Jobticket has great potential to persuade even more people to use environmentally-friendly public transport - a real boost towards enacting a modal shift. At DB, we have been offering our employees the Deutschland-Ticket as an unbeatably cheap Jobticket since the beginning. For companies, who like the REWE Group want to offer the same product, we will serve as a strong partner.

Dr. Daniela Büchel, Member of the Management Board for Human Resources and Sustainability at the REWE Group:Our decision to offer our employees the Deutschland-Ticket nationwide is not just an attractive benefit, but travelling more sustainably to work with public transport is also a way to reduce everyday emissions - which we want to support as part of our sustainability strategy.

DB is currently in talks with approximately 1000 more interested companies and institutions, who would like to offer their employees the DB-distributed Deutschland-Ticket as a Jobticket.
