Recently, the Dongjiang Super Major Bridge in Guowu Village, the first super major bridge across the Dongjiang River on Ganzhou-Shenzhen HSR (Guangdong Section) was successfully closed, marking a major breakthrough in the key control project on this section and paved the way for the opening-to-traffic of the whole railway next year.
Ganzhou-Shenzhen HSR is a major corridor in the southern section of Beijing-Kowloon HSR, an important component of the main corridor in China’s HSR network of “eight north-south lines and eight east-west lines”, and is the main corridor connecting Jiangxi with the Pearl River Delta. Ganzhou-Shenzhen HSR starts from Ganzhou West Station, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, passes through Heyuan City, Huizhou City and Dongguan City in Guangdong Province, and finally arrives at Shenzhen North Station.
After Ganzhou-Shenzhen HSR opens to traffic, the HSR network will cover all the prefecture-level cities in Guangdong, which is of great significance to promoting the deep integration among cities in Guangdong, Jiangxi and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and giving full play to the role of the Pearl River Delta in economic radiation and driving.
